There have been a lot of calls for Hasbro to release more female character Star Wars toys, but apparently they feel they've released a fair amount. When asked at a Q&A during Toy Fair if they planned on releasing more female character toys, they stated, "Hasbro feels they have released plenty of female characters," and that they have "no plans" at the moment to release any figures that aren't already available.

There's some more information about Mattel's interactive "Hello Barbie." The doll, which should be availabel for Christmas 2015, connects with Wi-Fi and possesses voice-recognition technology, so she's able to "converse" with kids. She can remember phrases, and adapts to individual kids based on the questions they ask her and their other interactions, like Siri does on the iPhone. She can also play games and tell jokes to her owner.
